I relocated to train as an appraiser over three years in the ski resort town of Park City, Utah, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics and U.S. ski team. Unlike many apprenticeships, I completed all assignments from beginning to the end with guidance as needed, so I was always exposed to the entire process and reconcilation of facts. Assignments in this area were often complex involving many multimillion dollar properties, custom homes, diverse architecture and location attributes both during periods of nominal and rapid appreciation. In addition, assignments were taken in outlying areas which were both urban, rural, semi-rural and seasonal. By working in a variety of settings, I was able to obtain keen insight into the determinants of value and how they change qualitatively and quantitatively with different properties, markets and external influences. I began my appraisal work in April of 2003 and have continued full time until the present. During the past apprenticeship I distinguished myself for my ability to handle complex assignments and for my writing and explanatory narrative. I began my own business in Evergreen, Colorado in June of 2006 and have positioned myself in a similar location to my apprenticeship, basing my business in the mountain foothills with central access to the mountain, resort, urban, semi-rural and rural real estate markets.
Prior to the appraisal profession, my work experience extends back over 20 years which was primarily in banking and as an investment consultant, although some time was spent in medical laboratories and as a Real Estate Agent and Real Estate Investor. Education includes a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry (a prepatory program for medical doctors and medical research) from the University of Washington - with Golden Key Honor Society recognition. In addition; a real-estate sales license for several years in Washington State and owner and manager of several rental properties. My profession as an appraiser pulls together my interest and experience in real estate as an investment and my talent and experience in analytics developed in my university experience - My high academic achievement extends to my appraisal standards and my primary directive - to do thorough and accurate work. I am a member of the Mountain Metro Board of Realtors here in Jefferson County, Colorado and an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute. I utilize both the Summit Area Realtors (SAR-MLS) and Metrolist-MLS realtor data services, RealQuest property data; as well as, county, state and federal data sources. I have over 15 years of customer and client service experience. Appraisal samples and full resume available upon request.
All fees and turn-times are negotiable. I run a "green" and almost paperless office and shred/recycle any paper used and employ the latest technologies, have a redundant real-time back-up system, fire-safe, multiple power supplies, both wireless and land-line high speed internet, mobile internet workstation for working in the field, 2 four-wheel drive vehicles for accessing mountain properties and for handling winter conditions.
Your trust in the quality of my work will always get my highest regard and dedication - Thank you.
